Dripish LLP

An African app studio

dripish.africa

Dripish.

We make software that fits.

Dripish was registered as a fashion house. The clothes are on hold; the eye isn’t. We now cut, fit and ship mobile and web apps for founders who care how a thing looks and how it feels in the hand.

Made in Africa, made to measure, priced so an early-stage budget survives it.

A fashion house that ships code

It sounds like a pivot story because it is one. It also happens to be the reason our work doesn’t look like everyone else’s.

Every app is a garment. Somebody has to decide where the seams go.

Dripish LLP was set up to make clothes. Fabric costs money we didn’t have, so we put the label down and picked up the thing we could actually fund: building software. Same discipline, cheaper materials.

Fashion teaches you things most dev shops never learn. That the fit is the whole product. That the third sample is the one worth showing. That taste is a deliverable, not a nice-to-have you bolt on at the end.

So we work like a small atelier: few clients, fixed prices, nobody standing between you and the person writing the code. You talk to the maker.

What you can order

Four ways to work with us. Every one of them is quoted as a number before we start, not as an hourly rate that grows while you watch.

2–3 weeks · fixed fee

The Sample

A working prototype of the one screen your idea lives or dies on. Real code, real data, on a real phone.

  • Clickable build you can hand to investors
  • Design direction, decided
  • Honest estimate for the full build

8–14 weeks · fixed scope

The Full Cut

Your product, built and shipped to the stores. Design, front end, back end, payments, the boring launch paperwork.

  • iOS and Android, or web
  • Weekly builds, no black box
  • You own the repo from day one

Monthly · your team

The Fitting Room

We join your existing team as engineers for a few months. Your standups, your board, our hands.

  • One to three engineers
  • Overlapping hours with Europe
  • Thirty days’ notice, no lock-in

Retainer · ongoing

Alterations

Somebody else built it and then disappeared. We keep it alive, patched and shipping.

  • Bug fixes and store updates
  • New features, monthly
  • Takeover of abandoned codebases

On the rail

Client work on the bench right now. The first build is in staging and heading for launch — fitted, pinned, being sewn.

Soodeg

A property marketplace for the Somali-speaking market: listings, new-build projects, agents and buyers in one place — priced in shillings, paid by M-Pesa.

Native Android and iOS apps against a Django backend, built for our first client and in staging: new features land every month on the way to launch.

Built here, used there

We build from one place; the apps end up living in others. A short list, plotted honestly — real clients in real cities, not a wall of logos.

  • NairobiKenya
  • StockholmSweden

Where it’s built isn’t where it’s used — that’s the point, not a caveat. Our working afternoon overlaps Europe and the Gulf, so the distance never shows up in the work.

How a build runs

Five stages, borrowed wholesale from how a garment gets made. You see something real by the end of week three.

  1. Measure

A long call about who this is for and what it must do. We come back with scope and a price that doesn’t move.

    Week 0
  2. Pattern

Screens and data model on paper before a line of code. Cheapest place to change your mind, so change it here.

    Week 1
  3. Sample

The core flow, built for real and running on your phone. You use it, you tell us what’s wrong.

    Weeks 2–3
  4. Production

The rest of it. A new build every Friday, so nothing is a surprise at the end.

    Weeks 4–12
  5. Alterations

Launch, then a month of fixes included. After that, a retainer if you want one.

    Ongoing

Why build it here

Not charity, and not a discount bin. Three practical reasons an African studio is the better call for an early-stage product.

Hours

Your afternoon is our afternoon

West and East African time sit within a couple of hours of Central Europe. You send a message at 10am and get an answer at 10am — not overnight, not tomorrow.

People

The youngest workforce on earth

Africa’s median age is under twenty. The engineers here grew up mobile-first, on patchy networks and cheap Android handsets — which is exactly the discipline that makes an app fast everywhere else.

Price

A real budget, not a rounding error

The same build costs a fraction of a London or Berlin agency, and we quote it up front. Cheaper because of where we are, not because of what we left out.

Price it yourself

Tick what your app needs and watch the number build. These are the same rates we quote from — not a teaser that doubles once you're on a call.

you’re building.

Eight questions, two minutes. Answer them and we can come back with scope and a price instead of a list of follow-up questions — a real reply from a person, within two working days.
